maybe a few weeks, im busy at the moment one week till hollyday and a big battel event.

at the moment im working to get the HL gearbox inside.
proble is. the long axis is to long and the short axis is to short.
thats why im going to creart a secound prototy with 2mm side armour.
if that doesnt work i will over work the complet construktion and i will mad him complett in 2mm polysterol.
at the first prototyp i tested diverent transmisions technickst. from henlong standat to selvmade aluminium schwinging arms. im sure the secound prototyp will work fine.

question:
how do you want the kits?
-only the emty hull with emty turret?
-emty hull with working transmission. turret with kannon
-komplett: with transmision roadweel, tracks, sprockets and kannon

Just my 2cents worth. I agree with Nigel. The people that are in the market are also into doing things the way they want them done. By all means, make the parts available, but as separate offerings from the basic kit. Fantastic work there also.

Amazing job, I agree, a kit would be ideal for me. I think getting a pack of pre-cut parts would be just the right sort of level for enthusiasts. The other parts could be an optional extra ?

Hi Chris,

I'm excited with where you are going with this project, here are my thoughts for you:

If you are able to provide an Aluminium hull like Tamiya (I think most of us would prefer one?), then it would need to be pre-folded - not many of us have a sheet metal bender in our workshop
Also, not many of us have a lathe to turn our own gun barrels - so a barrel and 'holder part' like tank-modelbau.de sell for the Heng Long tanks would be great

Sheet plastic parts straight off the CNC cutter would be no problem, unless we wanted Shipping to the USA - that might get expensive, depending on box size

Do we needed special adhesives? I'm not familar with polysterol

Mounting points for the standard HL gearboxes would be the cheapest way for most of us, maybe you could find a way of having a mounting plate that allowed the end user to swap the HL gears for Asiatam or Tamiya gearboxes possibly?

Although it would be easy to get drive shafts cut, not all of us have access to a lathe (unless Nigel is offering to do the honours and cut axles for the rest of us...? ) I would prefer a solution that used standard gearboxes where possible

Road wheels, idlers and sprockets would be needed as part of the kit for the best model. There are HL parts that 'almost fit' but why do 'almost' if you can do 'better'?

I hope this helps guide you, please think of this as my wish list rather than a criticism of your hard work because it is outstanding!

sure the panther ofers diverent options.
in the last week i have to made the drawings of the the henschel and krupp Anti aircraft turret for a friend and for the same frind im going to made the components for a panther (M10) of the ardennes ofensive.
these parts will be in my shop too, after i have made the prototyps.
these other projets has keeped me away of the cromwell at the moment, its a bit annoying .
but much to do is better than less to do .

holydays ended, and here is my roadweel for the cromwell.
i tryed alot. Heng Long Roadweels, thinking about m26/m41 roadweels, Leopard2 Roadweels and many more,
but this variant looks the best and is scale in size .
